Empower Youth Entrepreneurs
Hands-on
Business Creation
Emergent Minds fosters entrepreneurial spirit by guiding youth in launching their own ventures. We prioritize practical experience over traditional lectures, ensuring students gain real-world skills.

Summer of Discovery
In summer 2025, we hosted 11 sessions at Hope Horizon, a youth center in East Palo serving students below grade level in ELA and math. Fourteen students created jewelry and soap products throughout the program. It culminated in “The Showcase,” where students presented their work to the Hope Horizon community and sold half of their products while donating the other half at the “National Night Out” block party.
Fall at Hope Horizon
In fall 2025, we partnered with Hope Horizon once more for our middle school entrepreneurship program. At our 5 sessions, half the time is allocated to teaching fundamental business concepts and the other half is for students to create their products. Sixteen students worked on creating pipe cleaner flowers and taba squishies.
Emergent Minds SMS Club
We’re hosting an afterschool club at Sunnyvale Middle School. Over the next seven weeks, 19 students learn business fundamentals while creating products such as phone charms, earrings, bookmarks, tin flowers, soap, and T-Shirt tote bags.
Piggy Bank Event @ Sunnyvale Library
On February 28th, Emergent Minds hosted a Money & Savings workshop at Sunnyvale Public Library for 40+ students and parents. After covering topics such as needs vs. wants, savings, and investing, we led two hands-on activities. First, students painted piggy banks to take home, encouraging early saving habits. Then, we played “Pick a Side,” where students debated whether different items were considered needs or wants.
Emergent Minds CMS Club
We’re also hosting an afterschool club at Columbia Middle School. Over the next seven weeks, 12 students learn business fundamentals while creating taba squishies, jewelry, and soap.
